Watch: Tommy DeVito does right by NJ pizzeria after appearance-fee dispute

Less than 48 hours after it was revealed that his agent Sean Stellato had doubled his appearance fee at a New Jersey pizzeria, New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito made things right.

DeVito showed up at Coniglio’s Pizzeria and Bakery in Morristown, New Jersey, on Tuesday, where he helped make sodas the old-fashioned way and chatted with some fans, and he did it all for free.

DeVito, and to a larger degree Stellato, took some heat after the latter doubled the rookie QB’s appearance fee from $10,000, which the pizzeria would have made back from an autograph that charged $50 apiece, to $20,000 after he led the Giants to a 24-22 win over the Green Bay Packers.

Though Stellato alleged there was no truth to the allegations, Coniglio’s owner, Nino Coniglio, sent sports business reporter Darren Rovell a screenshot from his conversation with the agent that appeared to prove Stellato lied about a price never being agreed to.

While it certainly seemed like Stellato was in the wrong, many would agree that DeVito’s good-faith gesture was exactly how the 25-year-old QB should have handled the situation.
