Khaleke Hudson 'Flying Around,' Says Coach Rivera
Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Commanders are looking for some juice from the linebackers group.

Someone who could quench that thirst is fourth-year pro Khaleke Hudson, who has continued to grow throughout his tenure in Washington.

"I thought Khaleke has done some really good things," Rivera said. "He's flying around. Very positive attitude. Very good approach to everything and he's learning more than just the one position now. You know, and in light of some of the things he did last year, especially in the last game of the season. We’ve noticed. We've noticed an improvement and we've noticed a guy also just playing with confidence as well."

Hudson, 25, was a fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the first year Rivera coached in Washington, so the coach and player go back with deep roots.

Rivera and the majority of the coaching staff has had a front row seat to Hudson's growth throughout the past four years and it has shown in his playing time. Last season, Hudson played primarily on special teams, but also saw more snaps on defense than he ever had before in the first two years of his career.

If he can continue to impress the coaching staff, Hudson could find himself earning even more playing time this upcoming season.
